Albert W. :Rusty" Galleos

Albert W. “Rusty” Gallegos, 78, a lifelong resident of Las Vegas, NM passed away on Sunday, December 2 at his home following an extended illness.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Felipe and Eloisa Julia Sena Gallegos and two brothers:  Anthony and Arturo Gallegos. He is survived by three sons: Robert Gallegos and wife Mindy of Dallas, TX, Felipe Gallegos and wife Alisha of Decatur, TX and Victor Ortiz of Las Vegas, NM; one daughter, Lisa Gallegos of Santa Fe, NM; a brother, Robert Gallegos of Las Vegas, NM; a sister, Barbara Sanchez and husband Louie of Santa Fe, NM; two sisters-in-law, Susie Beltran and Felicita Beltran; one brother-in-law, Joe “Chato” and wife Mary Angela Herrera; four grandchildren:Kaymin, Diego, Aiyana, & Claire; many nieces and nephews, cousins and close friends.

He was born in Las Vegas, NM on September 24, 1940 and was a West Las Vegas graduate. He married Consuelo “Connie” Gallegos here in Las Vegas on August 17, 1982. He worked at the Safeway Store in Las Vegas up until the time of its closing. He was at one time with the National Guard unit here in Las Vegas.  He loved to bowl and enjoyed fishing and hunting, doing crossword puzzles and going to the casinos

Cremation has taken place with no services at the present time.  A Memorial Mass will be held at a later date.  Memorials may be made to the Building Fund at Our Lady of Sorrows Church.
