ALICIA M. MALDONADO

Alicia M. Maldonado, 24, born April 21, 1994 in Santa Fe, New Mexico and a resident of Las Vegas, NM passed away on Saturday, October 6, 2018 as a result of an automobile accident. She attended West Las Vegas High School and graduated in 2012.  She continued her education at Luna Community College and graduated with an associate’s degree in dental hygiene.  Alicia most recently worked at the long term care unit of NMBHI, where she enjoyed caring for the residents.  Alicia was always smiling and tried her best to spread happiness around her.  She enjoyed spending time with her daughter, family and friends.

            She was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Lucille R. Romero,an aunt Sylvia Montoya,  paternal grandparents, Tony and Francis “Kika” Maldonado, and paternal great-grandparents Telesfor and Juanita Gonzales.  She is survived by her daughter, Janessa C. Sanchez and fiancé Jacob Sanchez of Las Vegas, NM; father John E. Maldonado of Las Vegas, NM; mother Tina S. Romero of Las Vegas, NM; sisters: Charise D. Romero of Las Vegas, NM, Ashley Maldonado-Reyes of Dumas, TX, Sophia Maldonado of Las Vegas, NM, Joslynn B. Romero of Santa Fe, NM; maternal grandfather Frank M. Romero of Las Vegas, NM; paternal grandparents John and Sylvia Maldonado of Las Vegas, NM; god daughter and niece, Carsyn D. Romero of Las Vegas, NM; nieces:  Maribelle, Arianna, Aleigha Barela of Las Vegas, NM; nephew Marcus Barela; aunts and uncles, Cynthia and Gary Tenorio of Los Montoyas, NM, Tony Maldonado and family of Santa Fe, NM, Alberta Baca and family of Albuquerque, Angelo and Sharon Maldonado and family of Las Vegas, NM, Christine Maldonado and family of Las Vegas, NM; great-aunt and uncle Brenda and Billy Rogers of Las Vegas, NM; cousins: Bernadette and Isaiah Montoya of Las Vegas, Frankie Montoya and family of Albuquerque, NM, Tino Montoya and family of Las Vegas, NM; brother and sister-in-law, Mark Barela and Adella Jaramillo of Las Vegas, NM; mother-in-law Judy Sanchez of Las Vegas, NM; god parents Orlando LeFebre and Geri Crespin of Las Vegas, NM and Manuel Baca and Alberta Baca; and best friend, Luciana M. Garcia of Las Vegas, NM.

            Cremation has taken place and services will be held from Our Lady of Sorrows Church with a rosary on Thursday evening at 7:00 p.m.  The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday morning at 9:00 a m.  Father rob Yaksich will celebrate the Mass.  The interment will follow in the San Jose Cemetery.
