Angelica Lucia Baca

      Angelica Lucia Baca, 38, a longtime resident of Las Vegas, NM, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 5, 2018 after a lengthy battle with cancer.  She was born on November 12, 1979 to Helen Gonzales Baca and Leroy Baca in Las Vegas, NM.  She is preceded in death by her grandparents, David and Eloisa Gonzales, Leroy and Stella Baca;  stepfather,Ermie Garcia Jr., aunt Theresa Bengson (Chip); uncles Fermin Gonzales, Frank Gonzales, and Juan Gonzales.

She is survived and loved by her daughter, Alyssa Jade Baca; mother Helen Gonzales Baca and father Leroy Baca Jr. (Nema McLerran); sisters:  Stephanie Baca (Mike Roybal) and Evelyn Garcia-Duran (Ernesto Duran); nephews: Cruz Roybal and Marley; aunts and uncles:  Mary Lou Dominguez, Angie Gonzales, Lorraine Rivera (Ron), Isabel Gonzales Quinones (Tony), Josephine Gonzales, Joseph Gonzales, Patty Young (Elliot), Joyce Schuh (Tom), Wyatt Baca (Joyce), Lee Baca, Ricky Baca, Joey Baca (April); godmother and caretaker Irene Encinias (Clyde Sanchez); and numerous cousins, friends, and co-workers.

Angelica graduated from Robertson High School in 1998.  In 2016, she received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology with a minor in Political Science from New Mexico Highlands University.  She was employed at the 4th Judicial District Court in Las Vegas, NM.  Angelica was an extremely loving, friendly and inquisitive individual.  Her pride and joy in life resided in her daughter, Alyssa Jade. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, reading novels, playing soccer, hiking and spending time in the outdoors.

Services for Angelica will be held on Monday, February 12, 2018 from Immaculate Conception Church beginning with a rosary at 8:00 a.m. followed by the funeral mass at 9:00a.m.  Father George V. Salazar will celebrate the Memorial Mass.  The interment will follow in the San Jose Cemetery in Las Vegas, NM.
