ARTHUR JAMES VINCENT ESQUIBEL
A rosary will be recited this evening at 7:00 p.m. at the Immaculate Conception Church for 45 year old Arthur James Vincent Esquibel, a resident of Bell Gardens, CA and formerly of Las Vegas who passed away on Easter Sunday. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday morning at 9:00 a.m. from the Immaculate Conception Church. Father George V. Salazar will celebrate the Mass. The interment will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery with the following serving as casket bearers: Christopher Flores, Dominic Guerin, Mark Esquibel, Mark Guerin, Joey Salazar, and Larry Esquibel. Honorary casket bearers will be the rest of his family. Mark Guerin will deliver the eulogy.He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Emilio Sr. and Librada Esquibel and maternal grandparents, James and Ernestine Vogel and a very close cousin, Phillip Vogel.He is survived by his son, Vincent Esquibel of Bell Gardens, CA whom he was very proud of; his parents, Charles and Martha Esquibel of Las Vegas; sisters, Theresa Esquibel and children Tanya and Christopher Flores of Downey, CA, Lisa Guerin and husband Mark and children Dominic, Kristin and Juliana all of Las Vegas, NM; brother, Mark Esquibel of Downey, CA, and Vincent's fiancé Sheila Sanchez of Springer, NM and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.Vince was born on December 3, 1960 to his loving parents, Charles Arthur and Martha Jean Esquibel. He grew up and shared life with his sisters, Theresa, Lisa, and his brother Mark whom he loves with all his heart. Vince worked as a certified nurse's assistant in New Mexico throughout his life. He was an extremely big-hearted Christian that would give the jacket from his back or the shoes off of his feet for anyone who needed it. He demonstrated this great love for others to all he knew as well as the sick he helped through his profession. He loved his mother dearly and called her daily without fail. He enjoyed her food especially tacos, tamales, menudo, and Spanish rice. She was his best friend. He was very p[roud of his father's many accomplishments and of the family ranch in Ledoux, NM. He enjoyed riding horses and camping the outdoors. He loved his nieces greatly. They were his shining stars in his night. He loved collecting rifles and above all else, he spent his free time fishing with his nephews, nieces, brother, and friends. He was also an outstanding swimmer. Of his many talents, cooking was his most prominent. The family would come from miles away to eat his barbeques, shrimp cocktail, and Chinese cuisine. Some of his most enjoyable memories included the times he went deep sea fishing, participating in international martial arts competitions, and going to rock concerts. Vince, was a beloved son, brother, father, grandson, uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. We love you Vincent.The family has requested that donations in his memory be made to the Immaculate Conception Church Building Fund. 811 Sixth Street, Las Vegas, NM.
