Fabiola L. Maestas,85, a life long resident of Rainsville, NM passed away at Vida Encantada Nursing and Rehab Center on Tuesday. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfonso Maestas; her parents,Arturo and Julia Sandoval LeDoux; brothers Willie LeDoux and Luis LeDoux; nephew Willie LeDoux, a great-granddaughter, Shawnese Martinez; sons-in-law, Efriam Fernandez and Tony Mondragon; sister-in-law Celia LeDoux; and brother-in-law, Henry Grant.She is survived by three daughters: Mabel Mondragon and companion Luciano Vigil of Rainsville, NM, Rose Martinez and husband Ramon of Monte Vista, CO, and Virginia Fernandez of Rainsville, NM; two sons, Edwin Maestas and wife Lynn of Albuquerque and Joe C. Maestas and wife Zella of Rainsville, NM; four sisters, Luz Montoya of Wenatchee, WA, Ramona Martinez of Mora, NM, Tillie Rudolph of Las Vegas, and Margarita Grant of Ocate, NM; two brothers, Arturo LeDoux Jr. and wife Emma of Las Vegas, NM, and Lee LeDoux and wife Nila of Ocate, NM; 12 grandchildren: Priscilla Medina, Michelle Vigil, Michael Maestas, Ray Martinez, Jeff Martinez, Pat Martinez, Lester Martinez, Kathie Fernandez, Mark Fernandez, Sharon Roybal, Al Maestas, and Eileen Maestas; and Graycie; 22 great-grandchildren including special great- grandchildren: Antoinette, Michael, and Nathan Medina; and 9 great-great-grandchildren including a special great-great-granddaughter, Kayla Quintana; a sister-in-law, Ernestina LeDoux of Denver, CO; numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.She was born in Turquillo, NM on September 30, 1920 and married Alfonso Maestas in 1939. He preceded her in death in 1980. She was a cook for the Mora County Independent School System and retired in 1982 after 20 years of service. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, embroidery, and gardening.A rosary will be recited Friday evening at 7:00 p.m. from the Immaculate Conception Church in Las Vegas. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday morning at 10:00 a.m. from St. Gertrude Catholic Church in Mora. Father John McHugh will celebrate the Mass. The interment will follow in the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Rainsville, NM.
