Geneva L. Pinkston, 76, a resident of Las Vegas, NM passed away at her home on Tuesday, December 4, 2018 surrounded by her loving family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Tim and Rose Romero;a sister, Carmelita Romero; two brothers, Hobbs and Timothy Romero; and a son Angelo Romero. She is survived by her husband Boyce of Las Vegas, NM; five sons: Greg Romero and wife Ella of Sanders, AZ, Ted, George and wife Juanita and Joseph Herrera and wife Roseann all of Las Vegas, and Edward Herrera of Albuquerque, NM; one brother, Tuffy Romero and wife Bernice of Rock Springs, WY; five sisters: Connie Ruiz and husband Filimon, and Debbie Landeroz, Sheryl Ann Mills and husband Mark all of Rock Springs, WY, Julia Sisneros of Cheyenne, WY, and Bertha Romero of Denver, CO. and 58 grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was born in Taos, New Mexico on October 13, 1942. In her early childhood she was raised in Rock Springs, WY and also worked at the La Fonda Hotel in Santa Fe, NM. She was a long term psychiatric nurse at the Las Vegas Medical Center for 21 years. She enjoyed shopping, collecting dolls, cooking, and watching the soap operas.
Cremation has taken place and services will be held from Our Lady of Sorrows Church with a rosary on Tuesday, December 11, 2018 at 7:00 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, December 12, 2018 at 9:00 a.m. The interment will follow at a later date in the Santa Fe National Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
