George Sanchez

            George Sanchez, 76, a long rime resident of Las Vegas, anm passed away peacefully at his home of Tuesday following an unexpected illness.  He was preceded in death by his parents Eusebio and Mariquita Gonzales Sanchez; a grandson, Jerry David Encinias; brothers and sisters: Berenabe Sanchez, Sofia Dimas, CharlieSanchez, and Juanita Sanchez.

            He is survived by his wife Mary Lou Sanchez of the family home; four daughters:  Juanita Rodriquez (Albert) of Portales, NM, Georgia Gallegos (Juan), Helen Sanchez, and Mariquita Duran (Mike) all of Las Vegas, NM; two sons:  Gerald Sanchez and wife Annette and Martin Sanchez (Monica) both of Las Vegas, NM; two brothers:  Gilbert Sanchez and wife Isabel and Eusebio Sanchez and wife Patsy all of Las Vegas, NM; 10 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.

            He was born in El Porvenir, NM on August 6, 1941.  On October 1, 1992 he married Mary Lou Sandoval, a relationship that lasted 56 years.  He had worked for Pepsi Cola Company, Highlands University, the Las Vegas, Medical Center, a ranch hand and self-employed doing odd jobs.  His hobby was recycling aluminum cans and he enjoyed dealing with antiques.

           A visitation will be held on Thursday at St. Francis Chapel at Gonzales Funerals & Cremations, 2315 Hot Springs Blvd.from 1:00pm until 4:00 pm. A rosary will be recited by the Hermanos from the Sociadad de San Jose on Thursday, July 5, 2018 at 7:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Sorrows Church. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated ton Friday, July 6, 2018 at 9:00 a.m. from Our Lady of Sorrows Church by Father Rob Yaksich. The interment will follow in the San Jose Cemetery with the following serving as casket bearers:  George and Carlos Gallegos, Eusebio Valdez, Mario Pacheco, Daniel Sanchez, Glen Maestas, and Martin Sanchez Jr.
