Ignacia (Chavez) Baca

Ignacia C. Baca was taken by our Lord on May 15, 2017. She was born on November 29, 1936 in San Geronimo, NM to the late Abel Chavez and Castellita Chavez Montoya. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her step-father, Manuel Montoya; her husband, Jose Florencio "Tigere" Baca; sons: Manuel Junio Baca, and Joe Baca; a daughter, Tomie Baca and a sister, Ofrecinia Montoya, brothers Antonio and Joe Chavez; and a sister-in-law, Della Salazar
She is survived by two daughters: Virginia Coca Padilla and husband Fermin of Las Vegas., NM and Yolanda Baca Gabaldon and husband Rudy of Santa Fe, NM; two sons: Oliver T. Baca and wife Victoria and Anthony Baca and wife Genine of Las Vegas, NM; brothers, Leo Montoya and companion, George Salas of Las Vegas, NM; three sisters: Rosemarie Galindo, Pita Brown, and Stella Sandoval all of Albuquerque, NM; Numerour grandchildren, Great-grandchildren and great-great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Her hobbies were many, She liked to cook, sew and making clothes, frequently visiting the Santuario de Chimayo, gambling, horse races and her greatest joy was having her family in her home cooking her good food for everyone. A special thanks to Rose Galindo, Victor Montoya, Tobias Montoya, Darlene Chavez, Sophie Gabaldon for being at her side during her difficult trials in life.
Cremation has taken place and services will be held on Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at Our Lady of Sorrows Church in Las Vegas, NM with a rosary at 8:00 a.m. followed by the Mass of Christian burial at 9:00 a.m. The interment will follow in Our Lady of Sorrows Cemetery in Tecolote.
