Isabel U. (Urioste) Ortiz

              Isabel U. Ortiz, 103, a pioneer resident of Las Vegas, NM passed away on Monday, November 13, 2017 following an extended illness.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Visitacion and Julianita Gomez Urioste; her husband, Porfilio Ortiz; her brothers: Fidel, Ruben, Ramon, Adonio, Eloy and Fulgencio Urioste; four sisters: Magdalena V. Chavez, Sarita Smith and Juanita and Fidelia.  She is survived by her nephews and nieces, and other relatives.

            Services were held from Our Lady of Sorrows Church on Thursday, November 16, 2017 with a rosary at 8:00 a.m. followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 a.m..  Father Rob Yaksich celebrated the Mass.  The interment followed in the Santa Fe Nationa Cemetery also on Thursday at 3:00 p.m.
