Jose Cresenciano Lopez

Jose Cresenciano “Chano” Lopez, 77, a lifelong resident of Gonzales Ranch, NM passed away at his home on Monday. He was preceded in death by his parents, Delfido and Guadalupe Gonzales Lopez; two sisters:  Polly and Magdalena; a brother Ernesto Lopez, and two grandchildren:  Jose Nieto and Augustine D. Sena.

            He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Dolores Parsen Lopez of the family home; a son James Lopez (Amy) of Albuquerque, NM; two daughters:  Virginia I. Nieto (Eustacio) of Albuquerque, NM and Francisca Lopez (Charles) of Gonzales Ranch, NM; one brother, Jose Dario Lopez and wife Susan of Watrous, NM; two sisters:  Cruzita Martinez and husband Elauterio of Las Vegas, NM and Margarita Jaramillo and husband Hector of Santa Fe, NM; his beloved pet, “Blue”; his best friend, Rosie Rivera of El Pueblo, NM; 8 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; and 4 god children.

            He was born on May 5, 1940 in Laguna Seca, NM and on August 1, 1959 he was united in marriage to Dolores Parsen at Gonzales Ranch.  He was a devout worker for the Solid Waste Department for the City of Albuquerque, NM having worked there for 25 years.  He retired in 1990.  His pastime was enjoying his family and grand kids and mingling with his friends at the El Pueblo Bar.

            Services will be held at the Nuestro Senora de Guadalupe Church in Villanueva, NM  with a rosary at 7:00 p.m Friday,. March 16, 2018.  The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, March 17. 2018 at 10:00 a.m.by Father Moses Nwankwo.  The interment will follow in the Santa Teresita/San Isidro Cemetery in Gonzales Ranch, NM with the following serving as casket bearers:  Art Rivera Jr., Morris Gonzales, Eustacio Martinez, John Villanueva, Charles Sena, Daniel Parsen, Michael Sandoval, and David Gonzales  Serving as honorary bearers will be Tony Rivera, Felimon Sandoval, Johnny Sena, Matias Gonzales, Archie Madrid, Reyes Sandoval and Lorenzo Lopez. A visitation will be held at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Villanueva on Friday evening from 5:00 p. m. until time of the rosary.
