Manuel Morales

Manuel Morales, 93, a life long resident of Anton Chico, NM passed away on Saturday, May 13, at Vida Encantada Nursing and Rehab Center. He was preceded in death by his parents, Manuel and Margarita Romero Morales and a daughter, Mary Morales-Baca and his wife Clorinda Sandoval Morales.
He is survived by his son, Larry Morales and wife Agnes of Anton Chico, NM; a son-in-law, Benito Baca of Anton Chico, NM; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; and extended family.
He was born in Plaza de Arriba, New Mexico on December 25, 1923. He married Clorinda Sandoval on February 14, 1942 in Dilia, NM. As a young man he worked in the steel mill in Colorado and various farms and ranches and did all kinds of construction work. He enjoyed plying his guitar, accordion, and harmonica.
A rosary will be recited on Tuesday, May 16. 2017 in St. Francis Chapel at Gonzales Funerals & Cremations, 2315 Hot Springs Blvd. Las Vegas, NM. Cremation will take place and the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, May 18, 2017 at the San Jose Church in Anton Chico, N. M. Father Antonio Mondragon will celebrate the Mass. The interment will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery in Anton Chico, NM.
