Susie C. Alcon, 77, a lifelong resident of Wagon Mound, NM, passed away peacefully at her home in the arms of her loving family on Monday following a lengthy illness. She was preceded in death by her parents, Johnny and Celina Sandoval Chavez; her husband Esequiel Alcon, and a son, Jason Alcon.
She is survived by five daughters: Clara Urquijo and husband Arturo of Springer, NM, Celina Esquibel and husband Daniel and Hope Alcon, all of Wagon Mound, NM, Tiffany Alcon and companion Charles Aragon of Albuquerque, NM, and Sue Alcon of Maxwell, NM; one son, Jonathan Alcon of Wagon Mound, NM; three sisters, Priscilla Martinez of Wagon Mound, NM, Betty Martinez and husband George of Albuquerque, NM, and Dorothy Chavez of La Junta, CO, Grandchildren: Arturo Urquijo Jr., Karl Esquibel, Amber Alcon, Javier Gallegos, Cali Brown, Joselyn Alcon, Johnny Alcon, Alyssa Alcon, Iliana Gallegos, Yolanda Alcon, Penelope Alcon, and Elizabeth Alcon; and great-grandchildren, Lindi Mae Urtuijo, Karlo Esquibel, and Amarae Ritchey.
She was born in Wagon Mound, NM on October 26, 1940 and was a 12th grade graduate and was a seamstress by trade. She enjoyed cooking sewing, baking, growing vegetables in her garden. She was a very devout Catholic and was a faithful member of the Santa Clara Parish. She enjoyed her grandkids, listening to Spanish and Country Music and enjoying her family.
Services will be held from the Santa Clara Parish in Wagon Mound, NM with a rosary on Friday, July 20, 2018 at 7:00 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, July 21, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. The interment will follow in the Santa Clara Cemetery with the following relatives serving as casket bearers: Jonathan Alcon, Karly Esquibel, Daniel Esquibel, Arturo Urquijo Jr., Arturo Urquijo Sr, Charles Aragon, Javier Gallegos, and Trini Gallegos. Honorary bearers will be Cali Brown, Johnny Alcon, Anthony Martinez, and Karlo Esquibel.
