Alfredo B. Armijo Jr., 59, affectionately known as “Bozo”, and a resident of Wagon Mound, NM, passed away on Thursday, August 12, 2021. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alfredo Benerito and Stela Maestas Armijo Jr. He is survived by four sons: Alfredo Armijo III of North Carolina, Ermino, Eugene Sr., and Rio Armijo all of Wagon Mound, NM; one daughter, Roberta Armijo of Wagon Mound, NM; four brothers: Mike and Raymond Armijo of Wagon Mound, NM and Tommy and Bobby Armijo of Dalhart, TX; 17 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
“Bozo” worked for the Mora County Road Department, the NMDOT, Franken Oil, Wagon Mound Public Schools, and Springer Municipal School System. He was the Hermano Mayor for the Sociedad de Nuestro Padre Jesus in Wagon Mound, NM, was a Deputy Marshall for the Village of Wagon Mound, NM, and was an Assistant Chief for the Wagon Mound Fire Department. He had worked for Dogie Jones as a ranch hand, the Wagon Mound Landfill. He enjoyed playing the guitar and played Santa Claus during the season for the children in Wagon Mound. At one time he had worked for Gonzales Funeral Home In Las Vegas, NM.
Services will be held at the Santa Clara Church j Wagon Mound with a rosary on Friday, August 27, 2021at 7:00 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday morning a 10:00 a.m. at the church. Father C. John Brasher will celebrate the Mass. The interment will follow in the Santa Clara Cemetery in Wagon Mound with the following serving as pallbearers: Jose Aguilar, Corey Muniz, Mary Jean Ortiz, Eugene Armijo Jr., Elijah Cordova, Mathew Young, Malaika Armijo, Makaila Armijo, and Michael Romero.
