Alice S. Ortiz, 90, a longtime resident of Las Vegas, passed away on Wednesday at Vida Encantada Nursing and Rehab Center. She was preceded in death by her parents: Filimon and Pablita Sanchez and her husband, Gabriel Ortiz.
She is survived by her dearest friend and life long partner, Claudine Montano of Las Vegas, NM, a special friend, Margaret Gutierrez and husband Dwight; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was the youngest of 12 children and was born in Penasco Blanco, NM. She was a custodian at the Luna Community College for several years and was a life long member of Our Lady of Sorrows Church.
Services will be held at Our Lady of Sorrows Church on Saturday, October 15, 2011 with
a rosary at 12:30 p.m followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 1:00 p.m. The interment will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
