Amalia Viola Gabbert, 85, a resident of Las Vegas, NM, passed away on Thursday, February 29, 2024. She is preceded in death by her husband Lavern; her parents: Santiago and Viola Regensberg Vigil; sisters: Pauline and Edna; and brothers Jimmy and Lorenzo.
She is survived by two sons: Rick and Chuck Gabbert of Las Vegas, NM; grandchildren Stephanie Anaya, Raymond Gabbert, Chris Gabbert, Florentino Martinez, Joseph Gabbert Jr. and wife Hope; Michael Gabbert and wife Jackie of Los Lunas, NM and former daughter-in-law, Jeanne Moore of Las Vegas, NM.
She was born in Las Vegas, NM on May 25, 1938. She graduated from the Immaculate Conception High School and worked several places including the Manuel Armijo Law Office, the Bank of Las Vegas, a clerk at the Las Vegas Daily Optic and retired from, the Las Vegas Medical Center as a filing clerk with 25 years of service. Her hobbies were listening to her Norvelas, crocheting, and sewing.
Cremation has taken place and services will be held from the Immaculate Conception Church with a rosary on Tuesday, March 19, 2024 followed by the Mass of Christian burial on
Wednesday, March 20, 2024 at 9:00 am. Enrichment will take place in St. Anthony’s Cemetery.
