Andrea Yvette Valdez

Andrea Yvette Valdez departed this life on October 18, 2009 at Southern Hills Hospital in Las Vegas, Nevada and was born on November 4, 1983 to Joseph and Sonia Valdez. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather Valentin Martinez.
She was a beautiful beloved mother, godmother, daughter, granddaughter, sister, niece and awesome friend. She is survived by her masterpiece of a son, Aiden Jeffrey Joseph Bitker of Las Vegas, Nevada; the father of her son Anthony Bitker and wife Misty of Las Vegas, NV; parents Joseph and Sonia Valdez of Las Vegas, NM; godmother, best friend and sister, Tanya Valdez and special nephew Bishop Shakur; brothers Joseph Valdez, Jr. (Brittany Donnor) of the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, CO and Daniel Valdez (Brittney Sullivan) of Las Vegas, NM; paternal grandparents are Anselmo and Adelina (Lina) Valdez of Las Vegas, NM; maternal grandmother Carmen Martinez of Albuquerque, NM; great-grandmother Carlota Armijo of Santa Fe, NM; god parents, Andrew and Fabbie Valdez of Las Vegas, NM, god daughter and cousin Loren Ortiz of Albuquerque, NM; goddaughter and cousin Ruthann Sanchez of Albuquerque, NM; aunts and uncles: Valerie Valdez Monteverde and husband Dr. Ronald Monteverde of Hobbs, NM, Rosemarie Valdez of Los Angeles, CA, Victor Valdez and wife JoAnn, Maxine Valdez Ortiz and husband James Ortiz, Maria Elena Valdez and partner Jonelle Baca all of Las Vegas, NM; Valerie Martinez Sanchez and husband Albert of Albuquerque, NM, Steve Martinez and wife Lila of Las Cruces, NM; great uncles: Feliciano Armijo, Leroy Duranslet, Tommy Armijo all of California; cousins: Robert Romero and family of Chinle, AZ, Vanessa Romero and family of Los Angeles, CA, Robert Aaron Ortiz and wife Vickie and baby Nolan of Santa Fe, NM, Domonic Monteverde of Las Cruces, NM, Matthew Monteverde of Washington, DC, Cristina Monteverde of Spokane, WA, Shannon Ortiz, Victoria Valdez and Joshua Valdez all of Las Vegas, NM, Ryan Romero of Belen, NM, Estevan Martinez and Leticia Martinez of Las Cruces, NM, Christopher Martinez of Iraq, Christina and Valeree Martinez of New York, son's paternal grandparents Jeff and Deanna Bitker of California; her extended family in Las Vegas, Nevada: aunt Cecilia Scott, Miguel, Auntie Kathy and Michael Guerrero; from California, Jazmine Jacobo, Sherie DeSylvia, Sebaztian Mereles, Trina, Cody, and Chandler Sanchez and Daren DeSylvia.
Andrea graduated from Robertson High School in 2002. She was a four year member of the RHS Cheerleading Team and a State Champion Cheerleader in 1999 and was honored as Who's Who Among American High School Students. Andrea attended NMHU, UNM, NMSU, and LCC. She was employed at Gameles Store, a CNA at NMBHI and Vegas Grandes Nursing Home before moving to Las Cruces where she also was employed as a CNA at Mountain View Regional Medical Center in Las Cruces. She relocated to Las Vegas, Nevada three years ago where she pursued an entrepreneurial career in the modeling industry, becoming part owner of NEDIA LCC.
Andrea was also an agency contracted Black Jack Dealer at Red Rock. She lived life to the fullest. She loved spending time with her family and friends and meeting new people. Her hobbies included traveling, fashion, entertainment, working out, and dancing. Her greatest passion in her life was her son Aiden.
A visitation will be held on Sunday from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. in St. Francis Chapel at Gonzales Funerals & Cremations, 2315 Hot Springs Blvd. All services will be conducted from Our Lady of Sorrows Church with a rosary on Sunday evening at 7:00 p.m. and the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday morning at 9:00 a.m. Father C. John Brasher will celebrate the Mass. The interment will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery with the following serving as casket bearers will be Joseph Valdez, Jr., Daniel Valdez, Aaron Ortiz, Dominic Monteverde, Jonathan Vigil, Art Abreu, Robert Romero, and Estevan Martinez. Honorary bearers will be her son, Aiden Bitker, Bishop Shakur, Victor Valdez, James Ortiz, Steve Martinez, Albert Sanchez, Leroy Duranslet, Feliciano Armijo, Tommy Armijo, Ryan Romero, Matthew Monteverde, Christopher Martinez, Andrea's hair artist and friend Daniel Vasquez, Andrea's friends and nail techs Michael and Hue Nguyen, Terry, Tom, Marty, Alan, Matt, Nathan, Stella, Sandy and all of her close friends in Nevada and New Mexico.
