Antonia N. "Toni" (Gonzales) Tafoya

Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend has gone to be with the Lord on Monday, November 28, 2011 following a lengthy illness. She was born on December 16,1932 here in Las Vegas, NM. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Alice Cisneros Gonzales.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Ernest Tafoya Sr of the family home; two sons: Ernest Tafoya Jr and wife Kathy and Gerald Tafoya and wife Gloria all of Santa Fe, NM; six daughters: Liz Barbero and husband Joseph of Albuquerque, NM, Theresa Romero and husband Nick of Las Vegas, NM, Connie Hendricks and husband Floyd, of Commanche, OK, Betty Baca and Georgia Trujillo both of Albuquerque, NM, and Helen Sanchez of Big Springs, TX. Toni has 15 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren, countless nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, god children, and friends. We all loved her dearly and will miss her so very much.
Cremation has taken place and all services will be held from Our Lady of Sorrows Church with a rosary at 9:00 a.m. followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, December 3, 2011. The interment will take place in the San Jose Cemetery at a later date. The family has requested that memorials be made to the Heating & Air Conditioning Fund at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, 403 Valencia, Las Vegas, NM.
