Berna L. Gonzales, a resident of Las Vegas, NM but lived in Albuquerque, NM for close to eight years, passed away peacefully surrounded by family and friends on January 30, 2024. Berna graduated from Robertson High School in 1992. She started working at Tillie’s shortly after which later became Cocina De Rafael where she was employed for 23 years. She relocated in Albuquerque, NM in 2016 where se started working at Walmart until the present day.
Berna loved fishing, camping, ad the great outdoors. She loved to crochet for her nieces and nephews as well as spending time with her best friend and hero…her momma. She is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Ramon and Lugarda Trujillo of Las Vegas, NM and paternal grandparents, Ignacio and Maria Gonzales of Anton Chico, NM as well as several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
She is survived by her parents Ramon Gonzales of Anton Chico, NM and Mary Ann Trujillo Gonzales of Las Vegas., NM; brothers: Larry “Bart” Gonzales and wife Irene “Minnie, and Floyd Gonzales and wife Alicia; sisters: Nicole Gonzales-King (Chrisina), Renee Tenorio
(Evaristo “Bamba”); numerous nieces, nephews, and great nephews.
Cremation has taken place and the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, February 13, 2024 at 9:00 a.m. from the Immaculate Conception Church. The interment will follow in the Catholic Cemetery in Empiedrado, NM.
