Bernadette C. "Berna" Montoya

Bernadette (Berna) C. Montoya, 53 a resident of Santa Fe and formerly of Las Vegas, NM passed away on Friday at the Presbyterian Hospital Downtown in Albuquerque following a brief illness. She is survived by her mother Aurelia C. Montoya and the late napoleon E. Montoya of Las Vegas, NM; two brothers, Arthur Montoya and wife Judy of Grants, NM and Christopher Montoya and Adela Moya of Las Vegas, NM; two sisters, Brenda Romero and husband R. Michael and Carla Montoya Cano all of Las Vegas, NM; nephews: Christopher M. Montoya and wife Jennifer of Keller, TX, Steven Montoya of Albuquerque, NM, Kurtis Montoya and Victoria Olguin of Las Vegas, NM, Sebastian Romero and Carrie Hummel of Albuquerque, Antonio (AC) Romero and wife Mikela of Albuquerque, NM; nieces: Carolyn Romero of Albuquerque, NM, Latishia Cano and Monica Cano of Las Vegas, NM; great-nephews: Andres Montoya, and Diego Montoya; great nieces, Mikaela Montoya and Amelia Romero; and by numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins and all staff and residents from Santa Maria el Mirador of Santa Fe
She will always be remembered for the love she had for books, she loved to read and watch old movies and game shows on television. She was a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Church. A visitation will be held on Thursday, April 30, 2008 from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. in St. Francis Chapel at Gonzales Funerals & Cremations, 2315 Hot Springs Blvd. Services will be held from Our Lady of Sorrows Church with a rosary on Thursday evening at 7:00 p.m. and the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 9:00 a.m. The interment will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
