CATARINA SENA CHACON

Catarina Sena Chacon, 86, a long time resident of Las Vegas, passed away on Thursday, July 19, 2007 at her residence. She was preceded in death by her parents, Graciano and Cipriana Sena; her husband Maxmilliano Chacon; a grandson, Mario Jacoby; three sisters, Angela, Jesus, and Corina; and brothers, Juan, Frank, and Gilbert Sena.She is survived by one son, James Chacon and companion Cathy of Albuquerque, NM; three daughters, Ruby Jiron and husband David of Grants, NM, Estella Hernandez and husband Rudolpho of Chandler, AZ, and Loretta Chacon and companion David Flores of Las Vegas, NM; three sisters, Adela Jaramillo and Sarah Duran both of Lamar, CO and Mary Louise Karr of Hisperia, CA; two brothers, Eugenio Sena and wife Eva and Roger Sena and wife Mabel all of Las Vegas, NM; 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.She was born in Emplazado, NM on April 30, 1921 and married Maxmilliano Chacon here in Las Vegas on December 31, 1946. She operated the Chacon Boarding Home for 5 years and after that she was a stay at home grandma raising her grandchildren. She was devoted to her daily rosary and enjoyed her vegetable gardening, listening to the Spanish programs on the radio and loved to cook. She was a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Church.Services will be held at Our Lady of Sorrows Church with a rosary this evening at 7:00 p.m. and the Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated on Tuesday morning at 9:00 a.m. Father C. John Brasher will celebrate the Mass. The interment will follow in the Santo Nino Cemetery in Los Alamitos, NM.
