Cecilia Montano, 90, a resident of Las Vegas, NM, went to be with our Lord on Monday, July 29, 2024 at Christus St. Vincent Hospital in Santa Fe, NM surrounded by her family. Cecilia was born in Rociada, NM on September 22,1933 to Casimiro and Antonia Samora Jaramillo. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Horacio R. Montano; a son, Albert Montano; granddaughters, Tammy Jaramillo and Ariel Ulibarri; brothers and sisters: Pedro Jaramillo and Margarita; Juan Jaramillo, Frank Jaramillo, Casey Jaramillo and Florinda, Benito Jaramillo; sisters Donica Salazar & Ruben, Isabel Grano and Robert; Maria Ortega and Savah.
She is survived by three daughters: Brenda Rogers and husband Billy, Anna Montano (Mark Ulibarri), and Sally Palacio (Rafael); her sons: Sam Jaramillo and wife Toni, Lorenzo Jaramillo (Nancy) , Anthony Jaramillo (Theresa), and Elden Montano; 12 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and one great-great granddaughter and a sister-in-law, Cecelia Jaramillo
She worked cleaning houses for many years and always greeted everyone with a smile and hugs. She welcomed everyone with open arms and a worm cup of coffee and a meal. She loved to dance and play bingo. She kept a very immaculate home and loved to work outside on her rose bushes and flowers. She had a green thumb. She loved her flowers as her favorites were yellow flowers. Her mornings were spent praying a rosary and novenas. She loved her nephew and nieces in a special way especially her nephew Jessie Jaramillo and a niece and caretaker Sandra Jaramillo Melgar and Daniel. She was a member of B. P. O. Elks Lodge #408 which she loved to help in any way for gatherings and events. She had a great granddaughter, Avah which was her pride and joy. A visitation will be held on Friday afternoon form 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. in St. Francis Chapel at Gonzales Funerals & Cremations, 2315 Hot Springs Blvd. A rosary will be recited Friday, August 2, 2024 at 7:00 p.m. from the Immaculate Conception Church.The Mass of Christian Burial will be concelebrated by Father Rob Yaksick amd Father C. John Brasher at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, August 3, 2024 from the Immaculate Conception Church. The interment will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery with the following serving as casket bearers: Jessie Jaramillo, Shawn Martinez, Donald Casaus, Leroy Garcia, Manuel Romero and Eddie Sena.
