Cleofas Cleo (Roybal) Noel

Cleofas (Cleo) Noel, passed away at her home surrounded by her loving family in Rio Rancho, NM on February 7, 2022.  She was born in Las Dispensas, NM and grew up in Beulah, NM and was a long- time resident of Las Vegas, NM and Rio Rancho, NM for the past five years.  She was one of seven children born to Filiberto and Ana Maria Roybal.

            Cleo was a long-time resident of Las Vegas, NM and a long-time employee for the State of New Mexico and spent many dedicated years of service at the New Mexico Behavioral Hospital Meadows Division where she was awarded many accolades for her exceptional and dedicated work there until her retirement.  Along with her hard work Cleo was a faithful member of Our Lady of Sorrows Parish both in Las Vegas and Bernalillo, NM.

            Anywhere Cleo went she was sure to know someone in the community.  She was always willing to lend a hand or simply pray for all her family and friends.  She enjoyed talking on the phone, cooking family meals, spending time with family and telling stories from her childhood on the ranch.  She is preceded in death by her parents, her daughter Anna Velasquez, and six brothers and sisters. Cleo is survived by her brother Adolfo (Cleto) Roybal and his wife Vicky; daughter Gloria (Lor) Roybal; son, Bernie Noel; her grandchildren:  Raymond Velasquez and wife Jennifer, Victor Velasquez (Heather), Adam Noel, and Jordan Noel; great-grandchildren:  and other special survivors:  Victor Martinez, Thea Velasquez, Kylie Rae Velaquez, James Velasquez, Kristina Velasquez, Nova Velasquez, and Lisa Belanger along with many nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.  The family would like to take a moment to thank Cleo’s granddaughter Jennifer for all her care and love for Cleo the last few years as she was there day in and day out to support her while she battled with dementia.

            Cremation has taken place and services will be held at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, 403 Valencia St. Las Vegas, NM 87701 beginning with a rosary at 9:00 a. m. followed by the Mass of Christian Burial by Father Rob Yaksich on Friday March 25, 2022.  The interment will follow at the Catholic Cemetery in San Ignacio, NM.  Online condolences can be sent to the family at www.gonzalesfunerals.com.  Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Billy G.
