Connie C. (Vigil) Tafoya

Connie C. Tafoya, 67, a life long resident of Las Vegas, passed away on Tuesday at Alta Vista Regional Hospital. She was preceded in death by her sons, Roger Charles Tafoya and Donald Tafoya and wife Carol; her grandparents that raised her, Patricio and Eliza Vigil; and an aunt and uncle, Felimon and Antonia Montano. She is survived by her husband Roger of the family home; two daughters, Yolanda Madrid and husband Hank of Las Vegas and Yvonne Tafoya and companion Joseph of Taos, NM; one son, Ryan Tafoya of Las Vegas, NM; five grandchildren: Jay Madrid of Santa Fe, NM, Jennifer Tafoya of Taos, NM, Robyn Madrid of Las Vegas, NM, Marcus Madrid and Kevyn Madrid both of Santa Fe, NM; eight great-grandchildren: Jenice and Jennae Romero both of Las Vegas, NM, Isaiah and Jalen Montano both of Taos, NM, Analicia, Marcus Jr. Kevyn Jr., and Jay Madrid all of Santa Fe, NM.
She was born, raised, and educated here in Las Vegas. She owned at operated the Heart to Heart Flower Shop. She was an active Little League mother and spend time fishing with her children and grandchildren. She was a postal contract mail carrier for over 20 years. She was an avid artist specializing in oil paintings. She loved to cook and was a perfectionist when it came to landscaping in her yard. She was a life long catholic and a member both the Immaculate Conception Church and Our Lady of Sorrows Church.
All services will be held at Our Lady of Sorrows Church with a rosary at 7:00 p.m. on Friday evening and the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday morning at 9:00 a.m. The interment will follow in the family plot in the San Jose Cemetery. Cremation has already taken place. The family has requested the memorials be made to the Heating and Air Conditioning Fund at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, 403 Valencia Street, Las Vegas, NM. 87701.
