Delfina (Valdez) Vigil

Delfina Vigil, 93, a pioneer resident of Ojo Feliz, NM went to be with the Lord on Tuesday. She was the daughter of the late Benigno and Victoria Valdez and was born in Ojo Feliz, NM on February 10, 1917. She was united in marriage to the late Flavio Vigil of Ojo Feliz, NM and was preceded in death by her parents; a brother; Bernardino Valdez; a sister Andrea Trujillo; and a step-grandson, Rene Ruiz.
She is survived by her son, Ernie Vigil and wife Frances of Rock Springs, WY; a daughter, Maria Vigil of Las Vegas, NM; six grandchildren: Lisa Vigil of Las Vegas, NM, Steve Vigil and wife Jozanna of Albuquerque, NM, Ernie Vigil, Jr., Francis Vigil, Priscilla Vigil, and Paul Vigil of Tacoma, WA; 15 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; four brothers, Manuel Valdez and wife Martha of San Jose, CA, Floyd Valdez and wife Priscilla of Colorado Springs, CO, Emilio Valdez, and Lidoro Valdez and wife Louella of Ojo Feliz, NM; numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives, and special friends Gloria Vigil of Tacoma, WA, Alva Tom of Standing Rock, NM, a special sister and brother-in-law, Priscilla Montez of Ojo Feliz, Elizardo Vigil of Ogden, Ut, and numerous brothers and sisters in Christ, Pastor Louis Holguin and wife Sharon, and to her favorites, Lisa, Doris, and Madeline who were her loving and kind caregivers. She was a member of the East Drive Baptist Church here in Las Vegas, a born again believer and faithful to the Lord. Delfina enjoyed going to church, spending time with family and friends.
A funeral service will be held on Friday morning at 10:00 a.m. from the East Drive Baptist Church, 2362 East Drive. Pastor Louis Olguin will officiate. The interment will follow in the Church of Christ Cemetery in Ojo Feliz, NM. with the following grandchildren serving as casket bearers: William Martinez, Steve Vigil, Zack Vigil, Maya Vigil, Patricia Yara, and Justic Vigil.
