Dolores Parson Lopez, 83, a resident of Gonzales Ranch, NM, passed away peacefully at the family home on July 29 2024. She was preceded in death by her parents, Antonio and Filomena Parson; her husband, Chano Lopez; two grandsons. Jose Nieto and Augustine
Sena; one great-grandson, Maximillano; and brothers: Ernie Parson, Frank Parson, Frank Parson, Tony Parson, and Gilbert Parson.
Dolores was born in Las Vegas, NM on March 23, 1941. She attended school in Las Vegas, NM and Trinidad High School in Colorado. She married the love of her life, Chano Lopez on August 1, 1959 a relationship that lasted 59 years before his passing in 2018.
She is survived by two daughters: Virginia Nieto (Eustacio) and Francisca Sena (Charles) and one son, James (Amy); 11 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law Mercy Parson, Margie Lopez, and Mary Ann Santistevan; and brother-in-law Joe Lopez (Susan).
Throughout her life Dolores was a homemaker and a bingo player who rarely missed a night out at bingo. She loved traveling and visiting family in other states. She also enjoyed the casino as much as possible. She liked drinking coffee and chatting with all her friends. She loved all her nephews and nieces. A special friend and helper Esther Lopez. Her granddaughter Isis Lucero was her special pride and joy and companion to bingo. She loved baking banana bread
And cookies for her friends.
Services will be held from Santa Teresita/Santo Isidro Church in Gonzales Ranch, NM with a rosary at 10:00 am. on Friday, August 23, 2024 at 10:00a.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 a.m. Her cremains will be buried in the Santa Teresita/San Isidro Cemetery in Gonzales Ranch, NM.
