Dorothy (Encinias) Knezevich

Dorothy Knezevich, 81, a resident of Las Vegas, New Mexico, passed away on September 30, 2025.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Toribio Encinias Sr. and wife Virginia Sanchez; and a brother, Toribio Encinias Jr. She is survived by her husband, Howard of the family home; a daughter Elizabeth Wheeldon and husband Peter of London, England; four sons:  Howard Knezevich (Anne) of Rio Rancho, NM, Jacob Knezevich (Angeli), Eric Knezevich, and Cheves White all of Las Vegas, 13 grandchildren NM; a sister, Sally Bicente of California; a brother Fred Encinias (Patsy) of Montezuma, NM; 13 grandchildren and 2 Great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

She was born in Las Vegas on September 23, 1944 to the late Toribio Encinias Sr. and Virginia Sanchez Encinias She graduated from West Las Vegas High School and married Howard Knezevich on October 10, 1965 here in Las Vegas.  She was the co-owner of Howard’s Sand and Gravel.  Her Hobbies were taking care of her flower garden and watching her grandkids and great-grand kids in sports. 

Services will be held at Our Lady of Sorrows Church on Tuesday, October 14, 2025 beginning with a rosary ar 9:00 a.m. followed by the Mass of Christian Burial.  Father Rob Yaksich will celebrate the Mass.  The interment will follow in the Jesus, Maria, de Jose Cemetery in Montezuma, NM with the following serving as pallbearers: Danny Ortiz, Jacob Knezevich, Steven Knezevich, Charles Knezevich, Brook Knezevich, and Elmer Pacheco.
