Edward "Eddie" Marquez Jr.

Edward “Eddie” Marquez, Jr., a resident of Las Vegas, NM, passed away on August, 29, 2022 at St. Vincent Regional Hospital in Santa, Fe., NM. He was preceded in death by his parents, Eduardo “Tito” Marquez and Ignacita Montoya Marquez; a brother Antonio Marquez; a sister-in-law, Josie Marquez, and an infant sister, Elenita Marquez.  He is survived by a sister, Helen Marquez of Las Vegas, NM; five nieces: Sylvia Rodriquez and husband Louie Pando of Mora, NM, Kathy Ortiz and husband Chris, Esther Marquez husband Mario Marrufo, Theresa Marquez, and Eva Marquez all of Albuquerque, NM; a nephew Robert Marquez and wife Annie Lori of Albuquerque and other nephews, nieces, and cousins; special friends Levi Lefebre and Joe Coca.

He graduated from Robertson High School and entered the U. S. Army shortly afterwards and was honorably discharged on April 24, 1970. After returning from the military, he worked in various grocery stores, was a maintenance worker at the Las Vegas Hospital and was a boiler operator at the Las Vegas Medical Center for 25 years.

Services will be held at Our Lady of Sorrows church with a rosary on Sunday evening at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 11, 2022.  The Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday, September 12, 2022 at 9:00 a.m. The interment with military honors will l be held in the National Cemetery on Monday, September 19, 2022 at 12:30 p.m.

Serving as pallbearers will be Levi Lefebre, Jerry Salas, Louie Pando, Chris Ortiz, Michael Pacheco, and Orlando Lefebre. .
