CW4 Eldon Forsee, (Retired), 75, a resident of Las Vegas, NM, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 23, 2024 at his home. Besides his parents, Dudley and Donna Burke Forsee, he was preceded in death by a brother James Forsee and wife Nancy and a brother in-law R. E. Pitre. He is survived by his wife Donna Forsee ; a daughter Sarah A. Forsee of Raytown, Missouri; a step-daughter, Heather Urioste and husband Les of Las Vegas, NM; a sister Patricia Pitre of Baton Rouge, LA; a niece, Theresa Cantu and husband Mark of LA; a nephew, Chris Pitre of Amarillo, TX; a great nephew Cory Cantu of LA; a great-niece Caroline Cantu of LA; and the following grandchildren: Stephen Urioste (Kayla), Alicia Urioste (Chris), and a great-granddaughter, Zoey Urioste all of Las Vegas, NM.
Eldon was born on January 12, 1949 in Kansas City, KS. Eldon has a bachelors degree and was united in marriage to Donna Bardwell on September 1,2001 in Olathe, KS, a marriage that lasted 22 years. He was a proud Army Veteran and achieved the rank of Chief Warrant Officer in the U. S. Army who served in Vietnam, Haiti, Bosnia, Iraq, and Afghanistan, over 35 years of service. He was a member of Las Vegas Elks Lodge #408 and Post 1547 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars
A visitation will be held on Monday, July 1, 2024 in the Chapel of Gonzales Funerals & Cremations, 2315 Hot Springs Blvd., Las Vegas, NM from 1:00 pm until 4:00 pm. His life celebration will be held on Tuesday, July 2, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. from the Mountain View Church of Christ, 53 Mountain View Drive at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Paul Gray officiating. The interment will follow in the Santa Fe National Cemetery at 1:30 pm with the following serving as pall bearers: Gary Ludi, Joe Cruz, Les Urioste, Stephen Urioste, Manuel Romero, and Eric Tapia. In lieu of flowers. Eldon’s wishes are to have donations made to Post 1547 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, 148 Mills Avenue, Las Vegas, NM 87701 or to the Vietnam Veterans of America, 3033 Wilson Blvd, Suite 300, Arlington, VA 22201.
