Welcome to the memorial page for

Estella M. (Marquez) Solano

January 8, 1928 ~ March 1, 2012 (age 84) 84 Years Old
Our beautiful mother, Stella is now resting joyously with our faithful Lord. She passed away in her home on Thursday morning, March 1, 2012, which was her wish. She was a devoted wife and mother. Her soft spoken personality and unconditional acceptance of people won her many friends and acquaintances. Her patience was her virtue.
She was active in her community as a member and Past President of the Las Vegas DOES Drove #136, Catholic Daughters of America, and the Las Vegas Women's Club. Prior to her marriage, she attended Highlands University for several years. She retired as Food Service Director for the West Las Vegas School System and was employed several summers by Western Life Camp. For a short period, she was an employee of El Rialto Restaurant. She enjoyed cooking and was contented when she received praise for being a good cook.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Eutimio Solano Jr.; her parents, Raphael Marquez and Fedelina Chavez Marquez; daughter, Daniella Solano; son, Stephan Mark Solano; grandson, Daniel "Dan Dan" Solano; and sons-in-law, Monico Madrid and Orlando Alires.
Her surviving children are: Barbara Madrid, Anthony Solano and wife Christine all of Las Vegas, NM, Isabel Solano-Sanchez husband and David and Theresa Alires all of Albuquerque, NM, Juan Solano, Eutimio Winx Solano, and Eddie Solano all of Las Vegas, NM; her surviving grand children are: Jerry Wayne Madrid, Amor Solano, Monica Padilla, Anthony, Jr. And Erica Solano, Marc and Andrea Solano, David Sanchez, III, Monica Gallegos, Lisa and Clarence Gutierrez, Gabriel Alires, Robert Rey Solano, Jason Solano, Nadine Solano, Juliann Solano, Diego Angel, Conrad Faganello Hughes, David and Nicole Solano and Jonathan Solano.
She had 17 great-grandchildren. Her Godchildren, Bessie Espinosa, Diane Valdez and Jason Solano held a special place in her heart. She is also survived by her brothers, Vincent Marquez of Colorado Springs, CO, Alex Marquez of Las Vegas, NM, and Ralph Marquez, Jr., and wife Georgia of Rocky Ford, CO; her sisters, Tina Marquez (Kiddo) of Las Vegas, NM and Fedelina Vasquez of Pueblo, CO. Many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews also survive her.
Her face, the sound of her voice and the gentleness of her touch will never be forgotten. We will say not with sadness "She is no longer here." But with gladness "She was!" We are sorrowful at her passing and she will be truly missed, but we look into our hearts and see that in truth we weep for that which has been our delight.
