Evangelina Duran Lucero Johnson, 80, a resident of Las Vegas, passed away on Wednesday, Novemer 28, 2007 at Alta Vista Regional Hospital. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Stoney Johnson; daughters: Caroline Herrera, Florida Lucero, and Dorothy Ann Lucero; and a son,Estevan Duran and her parents, Fernando and Refugio Maes Duran. She is survived by her brother, Chris Duran and wife Maria of Cimmaron, NM; three sons: Eloy Lucero and wife Susie of Las Vegas, NM, Gilbert Martinez and wife Priscilla of Wichita, KS, Stoney Johnson and wife Judy of Las Vegas, NM; one daughter, Brenda Duran and husband Phillip of Las Vegas; stepchildren: Margie Romero and husband Edmund of Mora, NM, Yvonne Montoya and husband Alex of Rainsville, NM, Louise Sanchez of Guadalupita, NM, Marilyn Apodaca and husband Esperion of Albuquerque, NM, Betsy Martinez of Guadalupita, NM, Johnny Johnson of Denver, CO; a sister-in-law, Rita Gonzales of Las Vegas, NM, a brother-in-law, Buford Johnson of Denver, CO; a son-in-law, David Herrera of Bell, CA; grandchildren: David Herrera and wife Liz of Albuquerque, Anthony Herrera and wife Maria and Catherine Herrera all of Bell, CA, Lawrence Lucero and wife Bernice, Sandra Lucero and husband Anthony, Anthony Lucero and wife Ashley, Kimberly Duran and husband Gerald, Sandy Duran, Anthony Johnson Jr., Tabatha Johnson, Steven Duran, Nathan Duran, Kevin Duran, Melissa Trujillo all of Las Vegas, NM, Louella Martinez and husband John of Wichita, KS; special friend, Jojo Maestas of Las Vegas, NM, one-great-grandchild, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and close family members. A visitation will be held on Sunday beginning at 6:00 p.m. from St. Francis Chapel at Gonzales Funerals & Cremations, 2315 Hot Springs Blvd followed by a rosary at 7:00 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 9:00 a.m. from Our Lady of Sorrows Church. Father C. John Brasher will celebrate the Mass. The interment will follow in Our Lady of Guadalupe Cemetery in Guadalupita, NM with the following relatives serving as casket bearers: Anthony Herrera, David Herrera, Lawrence Lucero, Adam Lucero, Gerald Cardenas, and Joe Ortiz. Honorary bearers will be Anthony Johnson and Steven Duran.
