Evelyn Luella Lucero

Evelyn Lucero, 74, passed away on November 25, 2025 at the University of New Mexico Hospital in Albuquerque, NM.  She was born on September 10, 1951 to Daniel and Anita Sanchez in Las Vegas., NM.  She graduated from West Las Vegas High School in 1970 and attended Beauty School in Albuquerque from 1970-1972.  She worked as a beautician and hair stylist at the Montgomery Ward Beauty Salon in the Winrock Shopping Center in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

            Evelyn is survived by her sister and care giver, Dora Lucero of Albuquerque, NM; brother, Lizardo Lucero (Mary) of Albuquerque, NM; daughter, Danielle Lucero of Las Vegas, NV; sister-in-law,, Juanita Lucero of Sapello, NM; nieces:  LeeEtte Quintana (Jay) of Sapello, NM, Cynthia Lucero-Ali (Khaled) of Albuquerque, NM, Dorothy Lucero-Rich (Russell) of Lamar, CO, Erlene Lucero of Lamar, CO, and Judy Lucero of Lamar. CO; Nephews:  Danny Lucero of Albuquerque, NM, Davud Lucero of Albuquerque, NM, Leo Lucero (Kathy) of Lamar, CO and Charlie Lucero (Dena) of Nashville. TN.

            Evelyn is preceded in death by her parents Daniel Lucero and Anita Sanchez Lucero; sister, MaryAnn Lucero; brothers: Bonefacio (Bonney) Lucero, Eloy Lucero, Leopoldo Lucero and wife Connie; nephews:  Leonard and Timothy Lucero.

    A visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 10, 2025 in St. Francis Chapel at Gonzales Funerals & Cremations, 2315 Hot Springs Blvd. from 1:00 pm until 4:00 pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, December 11, 2025 at 9:00 a.m. from Our Lady of Sorrows Church with Father Rob Yaksich as celebrant.  The interment will follow in the San Jose Cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers:  Jay Quintana, Danny Lucero. David Lucero, Tony Montoya, Julio Montoya, Lorenzo Aragon, Robert Horner and Adam Montoya.
