FILADELFIO "PHIL" SANCHEZ
Filadelfio "Phil" Sanchez, 58, a resident of Ribera, NM passed away at his home on Tuesday evening following an extended illness. He was preceded in death by his parents, Atanacio and Josefita Flores Sanchez; sisters, Arabella, Elisa, and Olympia; and a brother-in-law, Filiberto Padilla.He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Mary Louise Sanchez of Ribera, NM; three sons, Allen Sanchez and wife Elizabeth of Sena, NM, Billy Sanchez of Albuquerque, and Glen Sanchez and fiancée Annette Romero of Santa Fe; one daughter, Robin Sena and husband Jeffry of Las Vegas; and grandchildren, Clarissa Sanchez, Marisol Sanchez, Andrea Sanchez, Allen James Sanchez, Savannah Sanchez, Marissa Sena, Mikaella Sena, and Jenae Sanchez. He was the youngest of ten children and is also survived by two brothers, Richard Sanchez and wife Gloria of Belen, NM, and Pat Sanchez and wife Mary of San Juan, NM; four sisters, Evelyn Rivera of Ribera, NM, Connie Grupe and husband Dale of Phoenix, AZ, Minnie Rivera and husband Eddie of Ribera, and Mary Lou Sanchez and husband Jerry of La Manga; a brother-in-law, Demecio Villas of Flagstaff, AZ, and many nieces and nephews.He was born in San Juan, New Mexico on February 15, 1948. He was a graduate of Pecos High School and was united in marriage to Mary Louise Padilla on November 25, 1967. He was employed at the West Las Vegas Schools where he coached basketball and baseball. He worked construction and also was a landscaper. He liked horseracing and many sports: fishing, golfing, and picking pinon. HIs main passions in life were his wife, children, and grandchildren. He was liked by many and was well known for his basketball playing days and his coaching years. He was a lifelong catholic and was a member of the San Miguel Del Vado Church in San Miguel, NM. He enjoyed helping others. Services will be held on Friday at the San Miguel Del Vado Church in San Miguel with a rosary at 9:00 a.m. and the Mass to Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. The interment will follow in the San Miguel Catholic Cemetery.
