Frank J. Lucero, 73, known as the Red Baron, a resident of Las Vegas and formerly of Rainsville, NM, passed away on Thursday He was born on May 11, 1934 to the late Jose Antonio and Frances Roybal Lucero in Rainsville, NM. He was a Korean War Veteran and served in the U. S. Air Force and was honorably discharged with the rank of Airman First Class. He received his early education in Red Cliff, CO and attended Adams State College in Alamosa, CO for one year. He worked for Martin-Marietta Company in Denver, CO, the CF & I Steel Mill in Pueblo, CO and was a warehouse manager for the federal government at Kirtland Air Force Base in Albuquerque. He enjoyed playing the guitar and singing country music. He was a very kind and gentle man and will be truly missed by all who knew him. He is survived by one son, Wayne Lucero and fiancé Lynn Esquibel of Rainsville, NM; two daughters, Mary Frances Lucero of Belen, NM and Christina Lucero of Santa Fe, NM; three sisters, Elsie Duran, Gloria Trujillo and husband Salomon, and Grace Trujillo all of Colorado; a special cousin, Bobby Medina of Denver, CO; a nice, Lorraine Salazar of Red Cliff, CO; and a granddaughter, Chole Espinosa of Santa Fe, NM. Cremation has taken place and services will be held in the Santa Fe National Cemetery at a later date.
