Frank Armando Griego died unexpectedly on March 19, 2023 in Linhai, The Republic of China. He was born on January 19, 1961 in Las Vegas, NM. He is the son of Frank Griego stepmother Carmen) and mother, Adele Montoya (deceased 12/26/2021).
Frank graduated from West Las Vegas High School in 1980. He was a member of the 1978 state championship baseball team as well as the 1978 district championship football team.
Following graduation Frank attended New Mexico Highlands University and also participated in several co-op education programs attending the University of Arizona, and the University of Oklahoma. He received his bachelor’s degree in business administration from NMHU and a master’s degree in business accounting from the University of Oklahoma.
Upon completion of his degrees, he worked for the Federal Energy Commission, the Internal Revenue Service, State of New Mexico Economic Development , and finally went abroad to teach English and Spanish at the Beijing Educational Company in China.
He is survived by his daughter Angie Sunny Griego; his father, Frank Griego (stepmother Carmen); sisters: Elizabeth Montano, (Louie), Eileen C de Baca (Mike); brothers: Roger Griego and Frank Sanchez (Bella); sisters: Carol Griego, Cheryl Morris (Robert) Kathy Ortiz, Fran Martinez (Wilfred Sandoval), and Ernestine Saiz, ; aunt Betty Griego and many nieces, nephews, and good friends.
Services will be held on Friday, May 19, 2023 at Our Lady of Sorrows Church beginning at 9:00 a.m. A reception will follow after the Mass at the El Rialto. The interment of his cremated remains will be held at a later date in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
