Hector Guerin, was called by our Lord on December 20, 2009 after a lengthy illness. He was born on September 25, 1925, in Las Vegas, NM. He preceded in death by his
brothers Ernest Guerin, Donald Guerin and sister Val Cox.
Hector is survived by his wife of 58 years, Josephine Larranaga-Guerin, daughter SueSullivan and husband Murphy, Sons Steven Guerin, David Guerin and wife Angela,
Paul Guerin and wife Yvonne, Catherine "Adele" and husband Al Bartron, seven grandchildren Daniel Sullivan, Arian Guerin, Erick Guerin, John Paul Guerin, Micah
Guerin, Sarah Bartron and Ann Bartron, a great-grandchild Garret Wencl, and a sister-in-law, Billie Marie Guerin of Phoenix, AZ.
Hector was a U.S. Army veteran with his tours
of duty including Ft. Bliss TX and Camp Callon, CA. He retired in 1987 after 13 years as Head Electrician from NMHU. He was a member of American Legion Post 12, DAV Chapter 17 of the Disabled American Veterans, the Knights of Columbus, and a 25 year member of E. Romero Hose & Fire Company. He worked with his dad Ernest at Guerin Electric and operated the Guerin Radio & TV Repair Shop.
A rosary followed by the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday beginning at 1:00 p.m. from Our Lady of Sorrows Church. Father C. John Brasher will celebrate the Mass. The interment followed in Mt. Calvary Cemetery with the following relatives serving as casket bearers: David, Paul, John Paul, and Erick Guerin, Albin Bartron, and Samuel Larranaga. Memorials may be sent to the Heating and Air Conditioning Fund at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, 403 Valencia Avenue, Las Vegas, NM 87701.
