ISIDORO MARTINEZ

Isidoro Martinez, 81, a life long resident of Las Vegas passed away at Alta Vista Regional Hospital on Thursday following an extended illness. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bernardo and Juanita Padilla Martinez; his wife, Florinda Martinez; and two sons, Levi and Ramon Martinez.He is survived by 13 children: Lucy Armijo and husband Ignacio of Las Vegas, Charlie Martinez of Denver, CO, Robert Martinez and wife Georgiana of Albuquerque, Merlinda Lopez and husband Gene and Gloria Martinez and husband Albino all of Las Vegas, JoAnn Cruz and husband Manuel of Los Lunas, NM, Jerry Martinez and his companion Annette of Las Vegas, Gilbert Martinez and wife Ida of Denver, CO, Joseph Martinez and wife Elaine, Dolores Serrano and husband Martin, Bernardo Martinez and wife Vinessa, Charles Martinez and wife Enedine, Prescilla Saiz and companion Charles Silva all of Las Vegas; two brothers, Antonio Martinez and wife Conferina of Las Vegas and Desiderio Martinez of Oakland, CA; three sisters, Sara Sena of Las Vegas, Priscilla Romero and husband Albert of San Leandro, CA, and Isabel Archuleta of Las Vegas; two daughters-in-law, Sadie Martinez of Las Vegas and Josefina Martinez of Espanola; 42 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren and numerous great-great-grandchildren.He was a carpenter by trade and worked for Franken Construction Company for nine years. He enjoyed fishing and hauling wood and was a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Church.Cremation has already taken place and services will be held at Our Lady of Sorrows Church with a rosary on Monday evening at 7:00 p.m. and the Mass of Christian Burial to be on Tuesday at 9:00 a.m. The interment will follow in the San Jose Cemetery.
