Jose Rafael "J. R. or Red" Quintana Jr

Jose Rafael Quintana, Jr. age 78, passed away on Sunday, July 31, 2011 in Albuquerque, NM after a long battle with Parkinson's Disease. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jose Rafael Quintana Sr.and Clorinda Ledoux Quintana; a sister, Juanita; brothers: Frad and wife Teresa and Sam and wife Beatrice; and an uncle, Demetrio.
He is survived by seven nieces: Isabel Quintana of Las Vegas, NM, Maria Langlois of Santa Fe, NM, Fabi Rodriquez and husband Joe of Phoenix, AZ, Millie Burell and husband Paul of Sioux Falls, SD, Angie Romero and husband Gabe and Patricia Ortiz and husband Gilbert all of Santa Fe, NM, and Marilyn Sanchez of Albuquerque, NM; seven nephews: Paul Quintana and wife Pauline of Tucumcari, NM, Robert Quintana and wife Rhonda of Las Vegas, NM, Jerry Quintana and wife Florence of Taos, NM, Roy and Clyde Quintana both of Ledoux, NM, David Quintana of Albuquerque, NM, and Dale Quintana of Ledoux, NM. "J. R." or "Red" as he was affectionately known, was a life-long resident of Ledoux, NM, where he farmed and ranched. He was a graduate of Immaculate Conception High School in Las Vegas, NM.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. in St. Francis Chapel at Gonzales Funerals & Cremations, 2315 Hot Springs Blvd. Services will be held from St. Gertrude's Catholic Church in Mora, NM with a rosary at 7:00 p.m on Tuesday and the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, August 3, 2011.The interment will follow in the Quintana Family Cemetery in Ledoux, NM with the following serving as casket bearers: Robert Quintana, Steve Quintana, Clyde Quintana, Dale Quintana, Jeffrey Quintana, and Gary Pacheco. Deacon Jerry Quintana will deliver the eulogy.
