Josephita Rodriguez

Josephita P. Rodriguez, 97, a pioneer resident of Las Vegas, NM passed away on Thursday at Vida Encantada Nursing and Rehab Center following an extended illness.She was preceded in death by her parents, Hilario and Rupertita Urioste Pacheco; her husband, Estanislado Rodriguez; two daughters, Senaida Martinez and Tillie Alires.She is survived by one daughter, Ramona Sedillo Piechnik (pronounced peck-nik) and husband James and their children, Edwin, Yvonne, and Trisha of California; two sons, Pete Rodriguez and wife Marcella of Danville, CA and their children, Diane, Paula, Laura, Lisa, and Joseph; and son, Mundy Rodriguez of Las Vegas and his children, Christina, Lena, Donna, Linda, Angel, Carol, Anita, Eddie, Ronnie, and Ernie, Helen and Antonia; several great-grandchildren and by two step-grandchildren, Heather Salazar and Stephanie Garcia.She was a seamstress and loved to do beading, make belts and helped at the Senior Citizens Center, enjoyed doing upholstery work gardening, crocheting, and knitting. She worked for many years at the Jayval Parachute Factory. A life long catholic, she was a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Church.All services will be held at Our Lady of Sorrows Church on Monday with a rosary to be recited at 9:30 a.m. followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Father C. John Brasher will celebrate the Mass. The interment will follow in San Jose Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be sent to the Heating and Air Conditioning Fund at Our Lady of Sorrows Church.
