It is with great sadness that we share with you the passing of our beloved Josie Gonzales. Josie peacefully passed away and entered into eternal rest on December 9, 2024.
Josie was born on August 24, 1938 to Anastacio and Conrada Apodaca who preceded her in death. Josie was a devoted wife to Amador Gonzales for 61 years until his death on December 30, 2021. Also preceding Josie in death were her sisters: Eufemia Delgado, Maria Apodaca, Carolina Perea, Deluvina (Beenie) Espinoza, and Gloria Asi, and a special goddaughter, Elizabeth Crespin.
Josie is survived by three daughters: Elaine Torres (Mike Wilson), Vickie Sandoval, and Erica Gonzales (Jimmy Chavez); two sons: Alex Gonzales and Leroy Gonzales (Pamela Trujillo. Also surviving are eight grandchildren: Melissa Gonzales (Ricardo Montano), Stephen Torres
(Taylor), Dwight Torres II, Alexis Gonzales (Tay Clay), Paul Sandoval II, Carlos Sandoval, Tatianna Fresquez, and Noah Gonzales. Six great-grandchildren: Isaac Yara, Abran Butler, Emilio, Eliseo, Eliana Torres and Amiana Clay; a special nephew that she considered a brother, Richard Salas. Also surviving are other family members and many friends. Josie was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She was the rock of the family and will remain in our hearts forever and will never be forgotten. Josie loved to sew and crochet, and baby sit.
Services will be held on Friday, December 27, 2024 with a rosary at 9:00 a.m. followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Sorrows Church. The interment will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery with the following serving as casket bearers: Steven Torres, Dwight Torres II, Paul Sandoval II, Carlos Sandoval, Ricardo Montano, and Tay Clay.
