Lawrence Gene Gutierrez

Lawrence (Gene) Gutierrez, 61, a resident of Las Vegas, New Mexico, passed away on April 15, 2024 in Albuquerque, NM following an extended illness.  He is preceded in death by his mother, Ermerlinda Gutierrez; sisters:  Sally Gallegos and Rose Marie Valdez; a brother, Rubel Salazar; and a niece Patricia Valdez.

            He is survived by his former wife, Maria Trujillo; a son, Joseph Gutierrez (Angelica), Christine Gutierrez (Ben); a step daughter Victoria Trujillo (Rudy); five grandchildren:  Christopher, Harmony, Jeremiah, Zacheriah, and Luna; a brother, Arnold Gutierrez; and a sister, Lorraine Gutierrez; an aunt, Viola Gutierrez; several nieces, nephews, ad cousins.

            Lawrence became a volunteer fire fighter for Company #1 after he graduated from West Las Vegas High School.  He also volunteered for the Gallinas Volunteer Fire Department.  He retired from West Las Vegas High School as a custodian. The Mass of Christian Burial will be on Tuesday, July 27,2024 at 9:00 a.m.  Father Dennis Garcia will officiate.  His cremains will be interred in St. Anthony’s Cemetery.
