LEE GEORGE GARCIA
Lee George Garcia, 52, a resident of Las Vegas and formerly of Tucumcari, NM, passed away on Monday, September 25, 2006 at Alta Vista Regional Hospital. He was born on May 5, 1954 in Tucumcari, NM to Jimmy Garcia Sr. and Mary Montoya Garcia. He was preceded in death by his father, Jimmy Garcia Sr.He is survived by his mother, Mary Garcia of Amarillo, TX; his brothers, Jimmy Garcia, Jr., of Las Vegas and Rudy Garcia of Tucumcari, NM; and by the following nephews and nieces: Martin and Leona Garcia and Chris Garcia all of Las Vegas, Donnie and Rudy Garcia Jr. and Carmen Garcia all of Tucumcari, NM; special nieces and nephews, Dominic Garcia, Amber Lynn Garcia, Faith Garcia, and Melanie Garcia all of Las Vegas; and numerous other relatives and close friends.George was a well known and talented musician throughout norther New Mexico with bands including Abe Maez and the Las Vegas Playboys, the Creation of the Las Vegas Jr. Playboys, and Desperado among other bands. He played the bass guitar and the drums and was also a vocalist. He worked for as a food service technician for the West Las Vegas School System and worked for the schools for 22 years.Services will be held at the Immaculate Conception Church with a rosary on Thursday evening at 7:00 p.m. and the Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated on Friday morning at 9:00 a.m. Father C.
