Linda M. Vigil, 60, a resident of Las Vegas, NM passed away peacefully on Monday surrounded by her loving family. She was preceded in death by her grandparents Alfredo and Conrada Trujillo who helped raise her; her mother, Leonor Lee Handy and husband Jess Handy; aunts Alice Rustman, Erma Wasson, and cousin Betty Silva.
She is survived by her loving companion and husband Frank Duran of Las Vegas, NM; two sons: Robert Vigil and wife Kayla and Jonathan Vigil and wife Pam all of Albuquerque, NM; grandsons, Bobby Vigil and companion Brianna of Albuquerque, NM and Matthew Thompson of Denver, CO; a sister, Patty Patricia Vespery and companion John Montoya of Las Vegas, NM; special niece Cynthia Higgins who loved her as a daughter and her children Cris, Sharissa, and Savannah; special nephew Gareth Gallegos and children Leon and Tianna of Albuquerque, NM; a nephew Albert Lerma and wife Karen and their daughter Faith of Albuquerque, NM; aunts: Marie Garcia and family of Amarillo, TX, Josephine Goode, and Agnes Maxie Taylor of Albuquerque, NM, and Antonia Wallace of Las Vegas, NM; former daughter-in-law, Michelle Vigil and sons Michael and Dustin of Iowa; cousins Donna Wasson, Carl L. Wasson and wife Kay and family of Albuquerque, NM; sisters-in-law: Gina McCray and husband Chuck, Jeanette Garcia and husband David and children Angelica, Chris, and Dennis all of Albuquerque, NM; an uncle Herman Bob Trujillo and family of Burton, Michigan; sisters-in-law: Darlene Collins her best friend and was considered a sister and companion Don Gallegos all of Albuquerque, NM, Priscilla Padilla and companion Johnny and family, Lucy Mae and husband Dennis, Carmen Duran, and Connie Martinez and family all of Denver, CO; brothers-in-law MikeDuran and Isaac Duran and companion Sharon of Las Vegas, NM; Carlos Duran and wife Pam, Roman Duran and wife Pauline and family all of Denver, CO, and Orlando Duran of Tucson, AZ; and close friends, Liz Velasquez, Don Gallegps, Peggy Lucero, Viola Aragon, Valerie Morales and family, Ida Vigil, and many other nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Cremation has taken place and services will be held at Our Lady of Sorrows Church on Thursday evening with a rosary at 7:00 p.m. followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 8:00 p.m. Memorials may be made to the Heating & Air Conditioning Fund at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, 403 Valencia Avenue, Las Vegas, NM 87701.
