Malaquias Trujillo Jr

Malaquias Trujillo Jr., born August 29, 1931, passed away peacefully at the family home on August 1, 2010 surrounded by his loving family. He retired from the New Mexico State Hospital. He served his country in the U. S. Army and the New Mexico National Guard.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Malaquias Trujillo Sr and Amelia Trujillo; and his children, Connie Esquibel and David Trujillo. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Lucy P. Trujillo of Las Vegas, NM; six daughters: Lucy Ann Padilla, Rose Gonzales, Sandra Lee Trujillo, Mary Lou Umbarger and husband Charles and Yvonne Saiz and husband Arthur all of Las Vegas, NM, and Angie Gonzales and husband Benjamin of Gonzales Ranch, NM; two sons: Larry Trujillo and wife Josie of Rio Rancho, NM and Leo Trujillo of Las Vegas, NM; six sisters: Mary Gutierrez and husband Fred of Fullerton, CA, Sylvia Gonzales and husband Mel of Denver, CO, Dolores Romero and husband Eloy of Santa Fe, NM, Dorothy Allmand of La Mirada, CA, Olivia Gutierrez of Sauguss, CA, and Patsy Jacuez and husband Luis of Belen, NM; two brothers, Leo Trujillo and wife Dorothy of Rialto, CA and Jerry Trujillo and wife Theresa and Ronnie Trujillo and wife Martha all of Las Vegas, NM; an uncle, Arturo Baca of Vallejo, CA; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, 19 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
Serving as casket bearers were his grandsons and great-grandsons: Danny Padilla, Adrian Trujillo, Benjamin Gonzales, Albert Esquibel, Michael Esquibel, and Brandon Padilla. Memorials may be sent to the Heating and Air Conditioning Fund at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, 403 Valencia, Las Vegas, NM 87701.
