Margaret A. Ortiz, 49, a resident of Manuelitas, NM and formerly of Montezuma, NM, passed away at the University Medical Center in Tucson, Arizona on Tuesday. She was preceded in death by her grandmothers: Victoria Ortiz and Margarita Aragon.
She is survived by her parents: William A. and Stella Ortiz of Montezuma, NM; one sister, Kathy Sena and husband Eddie of Las Vegas, NM; one brother, Danny Ortiz and wife Eileen of Las Vegas, NM; nieces and nephews: Edward and Amanda Sena of Albuquerque, NM, Stephen Sena and companion Nicole Gurule of Las Vegas, NM, and Danny Ortiz and Angelica Ortiz of Las Vegas, NM; a grand niece, Kristianna Sena of Albuquerque, NM; her companion, Leroy Saiz of Las Vegas, NM; and by several aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
She was born in Las Vegas, NM on October 24, 1959 and graduated from West Las Vegas High School. She worked for Sierra Transit Mix and the San Miguel County offices. For 15 years she worked as a legal assistant in the Fourth Judicial District Attorney's Office. Her hobbies included snow skiing, ice skating, and gardening. She was a loving daughter, sister, and aunt.
Services will be held at Our Lady of Sorrows Church with a rosary on Friday evening at 7:00 p.m. and the Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated on Saturday morning at 9:00 a.m. Cremation will follow the services and the interment will take place at a later date in the Jesus e Maria e Jose Cemetery in Montezuma, NM. The family has requested memorials be made to the Heating and Air Conditioning Fund at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, 403 Valencia, Las Vegas, NM 87701.
