MARIA LOLA ARGUELLO

Maria Dolores Arguello, 90, a resident of Las Vegas and formerly of Roy, NM, passed away on Monday a Brook Haven Nursing Home. She was born on February 21, 1916 to Juan Pablo and Ygnacia (Tapia) Arguello in Albert, New Mexico. She was preceded in death by three brothers: Raymond, Frank, and Miguel Arguello; four sisters, Frances Sandoval, Magdalena Lucero, Marie Aguilar, and Adonilia Rice. She is survived by a nephew, Frank Aguilar and wife Susie of Liberal, KS; a cousin, Dolores Martinez and husband Charlie of Roy, NM; and many other relatives.
Lola never married. She generously dedicated most of her life to caring for her parents, a brother, Miguel and her nephew, Frank. She loved to cook, sew, garden, and enjoyed reminiscing about times past with her friends and family. She was a member of Holy Family Church in Roy, NM. She continuously offered her help to the community and parish. Lola worked for Raymond and Dorothy Pendleton as a housekeeper and a nanny to their children for many years.Services will be held in the Holy Family Church in Roy, NM with a visitation this evening at 6:00 p.m. followed by a parish rosary at 7:00 p.m. and the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday morning at 10:00 a.m. Father Steven Imbarrato will celebrate the Mass. The interment will follow in the Roy Cemetey with the following serving as casket bearers: Charlie Martinez, E. P. Martinez, Tony Esquibel, Richard Shaw, Ramon Artalejo, and David Rice.
