Maria Luisa (Padilla) Sanchez

Maria Luisa Sanchez, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on February 4, 2022.  She was born in Las Vegas, New Mexico on January 11, 1949 to Antonio and Camila Padilla.  She married Filadelfio Sanchez on November 25, 1967.

            Maria was a kind hearted and caring woman who was loved by all whom met her.  Maria was proud of the education she received from Robertson High School.  Throughout her life, Maria worked for the West Las Vegas Schools, drove a bus for the Senior Citizens Center and was a caregiver at home instead.  She enjoyed spending time with family, her Sunday Fun Days with her sisters, gambling, sewing, cooking, and caring for family.  She also loved dancing and “her Bill Clinton”. 

Maria is preceded in death by her parents:  Antonio and Camila Padilla; her husband
Filadelfio Sanchez; in-laws:  Atanacio and Josefita Sanchez; siblngs:  Filiberto Padilla, Ernesto Padilla, Pelagio Padilla, Gabino Padilla, Gloria Gallegos; brothers-in-law:  Estevan Valdez, Isidro “Chico” Gallegos, Pat Sanchez, Demecio Villas, Joe Rivera, Eddie Rivers; sisters-in-law:  Arabella Padilla, Eliosa Villas, Evelyn Rivera, and Maria Sanchez.

She is survived by her children:  Allen Sanchez (Elizabeth), Billy Sanchez , Glen Sanchez (Annette), Robin Sena (Jeffry); grandchildren:  Clarissa Ulibarri, Andrea Martinez (Marcus), Marisol Vigil (Jesse), Antonio Romero, Marcos Sanchez, Savannah Sanchez (Leonard), Allen James Sanchez (Jessica) Marissa Sena (Richard), Janae Sanchez (Josh), Mikela Sena, and Alicia Sena; great-grandchildren:  Kasen, Milana, Kyara, Jayden, Andres, Penelope, Jassidy, and Salem; brothers and sisters:  Jose Garcia (Eloy), Viola Valdez, Christine Nava (Jesus),  Mel Padilla (Eva) Pelagio Padilla (Frieda); sisters-in-law:  Josie Padilla, Helen Padilla, Mary Sanchez, Mary Lou Sanchez, Minnie Rivera, and Connie Grupe (Dale); and brothers-in-law:  Richard Sanchez (Gloria), and Fidelino Gallegos.

Cremation has taken place and a private ceremony will be held at a later date.
