Maria G. (Lovato) Sena

Maria G. Sena, 82, a life long resident of Las Vegas, passed away on Friday following a brief illness. She was preceded in death by her mother, Antonia L. Lucero; her husband, Abenicio F.Trujillo; two sons, Abenicio I. Trujillo Jr. and Harold G. Stoddard; a sister-in-law, Margie Lovato; and a daughter-in-law, Sherry Stoddard. She is survived by one daughter, Elizabeth Padilla and husband Walter of Las Vegas, NM; one son, John Ernest Trujillo and wife Debra of Las Vegas, NM; two brothers, Tony M. Lovato of Las Vegas, NM and Carlos Ciddio of Santa Fe, NM; three sisters, Frances Ciddio of Albuquerque and Betty Goke and husband Albert and Martha Griego and husband Johnny all of Las Vegas, NM; six grandchildren: Sherry Salazar and husband Albert, Gary Stoddard, John Paul Trujillo and wife Christine, Pamela Antoinette Trujillo, Walter Padilla Jr. and wife Camilia, and John William Padilla and fiancé Courtney Conway; nine great-grandchildren: Daniel, Christopher, Marissa, and Xyianne Chavez, Kevin Stoddard, Jasmin and Kaylee Trujillo, Walter Rey Antonio Padilla III, and Sierra Carmen Padilla, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a special cousin, Mela Roybal. A life long catholic, she was a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Church. She was a caregiver and operated a boarding home on Lopez Street for over 60 years. She enjoyed being outdoors and enjoyed her family. She was a great story teller and will always be remembered by the special names she gave all who crossed her life. She was an excellent cook and was famous for her tortillas and sopapillas. A visitation will take place on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. in St. Francis Chapel at Gonzales Funerals & Cremations, 2315 Hot Springs Blvd. All services will be held at Our Lady of Sorrows Church with a rosary on Monday evening at 7:00 p.m. and the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 9:00 a.m. The interment will follow in the San Jose Cemetery.
