Marie (Lopez) Castillo

Marie Castillo, 62, a resident of Las Vegas, NM, passed away on Friday, August 17, 2012 following a brief illness. She was preceded in death by her parents, Pedro and Arcenia Martinez Lopez; and her two brothers: Leroy and Roger Lopez.
She is survived by two sons, David Lopez and wife Kenie Ann of Las Vegas, NM, and Matthew Castillo and wife Lynette of Ft. Rucker, AL; one sister, Linda Lovato and husband Lalo of Las Vegas, NM; four brothers: Tony Lopez and wife Eleanor, Johnny Lopez and wife Dolores, Gilbert Lopez, and Michael Lopez and wife Consuelo all of Las Vegas, NM; a sister-in-law, Patricia Lopez of Las Vegas, NM; eight grandchildren: Ashley, Kayla, Kevin, Hope, Faith, Izek, Leyna, and Alyxandra; a great-granddaughter, Trinity, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was born in Las Vegas, NM on January 5, 1950. She worked as a cook for the West Las Vegas Schools and she loved to cook and listen to Spanish music and take care of her grandchildren. She was a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Church. Services will be held from Our Lady of Sorrows Church with a rosary on Wednesday evening at 7:00 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, August 23, 2012 at 1:30 p.m. The interment will follow in the San Jose Cemetery.
