Marie C. (Tafoya) Lovato

Marie Conception Tafoya Lovato, 95, a resident of El Carmel, NM, passed away on Thursday, April 26, 2012 at the Care Free Living Facility in Albuquerque, NM. She was preceded in death by her husband of 75 years, Inocencio Lovato; her parents, Praxedes and Estephanita Tafoya; a son, Leroy Lovato; two brothers, Nash and Sam Tafoya; and sisters, Stella Aragon, Aratha Aragon, Irene Vigil, and Mercedes Crollett.
She is survived by two sons: Rudy Lovato and wife Maria of Holman, NM and Floyd Lovato and wife Martha of Las Vegas, NM; three daughters: Florence Trujillo and husband Michael of Holman, NM, Estephanie Petropoulos and husband Chris of Albuquerque, NM, and Gloria Baca and companion Gabriel Garcia of Pecos, NM; two sisters: Alice Trambley and husband Frank C. Of Mora, NM, and Katie Martinez and husband Alfonso of Grants, NM; one brother, Ernest Tafoya of Albuquerque, NM; two brothers-in-law: Bonifacio Vigil of Pueblo, CO and Seferino Crollett of Albuquerque, NM; a daughter-in-law, Josie Lovato of Holman, NM; 28 grandchildren: Elizabeth Bustos and husband Ben of Albuquerque, NM; Frances Moya and husband Carlos of Santa Fe, NM; Flavio Lovato and companion Francine of Albuquerque, NM; Daniel Lovato of Mora, NM; Mary Joe Trujillo of Albuquerque, NM; Rene Anesqua and husband Steve of Long Beach, CA, Michael Trujillo Jr.a nd wife Danielle and Marcus Trujillo and wife Jennifer all of Moriarty, NM; Misty Mares and husband Edward of Mora, NM; Heather Lovato and companion Mario of Albuquerque, NM; Monty Apodaca and companion Melinda of Los Lunas, NM; Eric Apodaca and companion Marie, Javier Lovato and companion Cassandra and Dominic Lovato all of Albuquerque, NM; Rudy Lovato and wife Jesusita and Carlos Lovato and companion Sandy all of Taos, NM; Isabelle Ortega and Michael and Nicole Ramirez and companion Adelido all of Las Vegas, NM; Rudy Lovato and companion Kristen of Holman, NM; Jonathan Lovato and companion Francesca of Las Vegas, NM: Floyd Lovato and wife Esperanza of Mora, NM; Francisco Lovato and companion Lark of Santa Fe, NM; Isaac Lovato, Emelia Lovato , and Melony Encinias and companion Judy all of Mora, NM; Kimberly Lovato and companion Steven of Pecos, NM; Manuel Baca of Mora, NM, and Anna Marie Baca of Santa Fe, NM; and by 39 great-grandchildren as well as special god-children and nieces and nephew from the Tafoya and Lovato family who were all special to her.
A visitation will be held on Thursday from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. from St. Francis Chapel at Gonzales Funerals & Cremations, 2315 Hot Springs Blvd., Las Vegas, NM. Services will be held from St. Gertrude's Catholic Church in Mora, NM on Friday, May 4, 2012 beginning with a rosary at 9:15 a.m. and the Mass of Christian Burial to follow. Father James Sanchez will celebrate the Mass. The interment will follow in the San Isidro Cemetery in Holman, NM with the following relatives serving as casket bearers: Michael Trujillo Jr., Flavio Lovato, Manuel Baca, Francisco Lovato, Monty Apodaca, and Rudy Lovato Jr. II.
