Martina M. Martinez, 79, a life long resident of Rociada, NM, passed away on Sunday evening at Alta Vista Regional Hospital. She was preceded in death by her parents, Abedon and Maria Ignacia Maestas Ortiz; her husband, Jose Filemon Martinez; her sons: Ramon Maratinez, Geneva Martinez, and Mario Martinez; daughter:, Dolores Martinez; brothers: Charles Ortiz and wife Fedelina, Juan Ortiz, Ricardo Ortiz and wife Mela, and Edwardo Ortiz; a sister, Mary Rose Ortiz; father and mother in laws, Secundino Martinez and Cleotilde Martinez; a brothers-in-law, Juan B. Leo Ortiz, Pedro Martinez, and Pat Roybal; and a grandson, Ezekiel Apodaca. She is survived by four sons: John Al Martinez and wife Elizabeth of Santa Fe, NM, Daniel Martinez and wife Debbie of Espanola, NM, Albert Martinez of Rociada, NM, and Greg Martinez and companion Georgia Ulibarri of Rociada, NM; three daughters: Elizabeth Apodaca and husband Christ and Corina Gurule and husband Ken all of Denver, CO; a daughter-in-law, Jean Helen Martinez of Rociada, NM; three brothers, Jose Q. Ortiz of Rociada, NM, Abedon Ortiz Jr. and wife Leona of Pojoaque, NM, and Manuel Ortiz of Ft. Martina was born on January 11, 1929 in Rociada, NM. and received her early education there. On July 3, 1950 she married Juan Filemon Martinez, a relationship that lasted twenty five years until his death in 1975. She was a homemaker enjoying her family and friends. She loved to cook, crocheting, gardening and fishing. All services will be held at the Santo Nino Church in Rociada, NM with a Celebration of Life Service on Wednesday evening at 7:00 p.m. and a funeral service on Thursday at 10:00 a.m. Pastor Manuel Salazar of the Work of Life Fellowship church in Espanola, NM will be officiating at the services.
